PCR is the highest-volume, highest-mix segment in tire manufacturing, which means painting cells have to hold their finish quality at speed, across constant size and pattern changeovers. Our PCR painting systems use vision to locate each tire and its features — sidewall lettering, decorative bands, whitewalls — before applying coating, so precision doesn’t depend on the tire arriving in exactly the same position every time.
TBR tires are heavier, larger, and run at lower line speeds than PCR, which changes the painting problem: less about raw throughput, more about consistent coverage on a bigger, less forgiving surface. Our TBR painting systems are built around that difference — the same vision-guided precision, tuned for TBR geometry and cycle times.
Apexing — bonding the rubber apex to the steel bead ring — is one of the more delicate joins in the entire tire, and one of the harder ones to get consistent by hand. Our bead apex handling systems, already in production at Apollo Tyres, position and apply the apex with a repeatability manual handling can’t match, lifting bead quality while taking a physically repetitive task off your operators.
Jamming (splicing/joining overlapping rubber components such as tread or sidewall strips) is a step where inconsistency shows up later as air entrapment or an uneven splice line. We build robotic loading, handling, and joining systems around your jamming/splicing equipment so the splice quality holds station after station, not just on the first shift after a changeover.
Beyond the build itself, someone — or something — has to move the finished green tire safely off the machine and on to curing or inspection. Our TBM-integrated GT (Green Tire) handling robots do exactly that: precise component placement during the build, and a safe, consistent handoff afterward, removing one of the more physically demanding lifts on the floor. We’ve delivered this for PCR and TBR lines alike.
